2013 Economic Forecast

With a decision on the Fiscal Cliff, the next congressional debate seems to be the nation’s debt ceiling and decisions on government spending. The effects of spending cuts will have far-reaching implications for the region’s economy. On this program, four economists explain the potential fallout from the debt discussions, implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the economy’s bright spots, such as the recovery of the housing market. Frank Hefner of the College of Charleston, Matt Martin of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, John Silvia of Wells Fargo and Doug Woodward of the University of South Carolina share their thoughts for 2013.
