Campus and Community

While the impact of Sequestration and the ongoing budget talks in Congress remain to be seen, universities are bracing for fewer public dollars in the form of scholarships and grants. In spite of the projected funding challenges, Johnson C. Smith University President Dr. Ron Carter is optomistic about the growth of his institution, citing the changing demographics of the nation’s college student population and the university’s work of connecting the west Charlotte campus with the community. Dr. Cheryl Richards, CEO and Regional Dean at Northeastern University moderates the dialogue, with Clemson University’s Dr. Scott Baier and James Sansom of Mechanics and Farmers Bank joining the panel.
