Economy and Education

Unemployment statistics in the Carolinas indicate the region’s economic recovery is still in progress, even while many companies expand their employee ranks. The challenge of finding qualified workers for available jobs is a challenge that has been repeatedly mentioned by employers. On this program, Economist Dr. Frank Hefner of the College of Charleston dives deeper into the unemployment numbers, and Otis Rawl of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce talks about the task of reforming education to meet workforce needs.
