Education Duplication

Are there too many colleges in the Carolinas offering too many of the same programs? Wingate University President Dr. Jerry McGee believes there are, and he suggests consolidating  institutions to strengthen the region’s colleges. McGee holds the distinction of the being the longest-serving college president in North Carolina and has worked to ensure Wingate’s course offerings adapt to match the anticipated workforce needs of the region. Joining in the conversation are Molly Shaw of Communities in Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Jonathan Yarborough of the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
