Healthcare Overhaul

Healthcare providers have been anxiously awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision on the Affordable Care Act while preparing for the implementation of the new law. In a conversation recorded before the court upheld nearly all of the legislation, Greenville Hospital System CEO Michael Riordan discusses the dramatic inflation of healthcare costs, strategies for changing the way patients are charged for care and the impact of new technology on his organization’s bottom line. Also participating in the dialogue are Dr. Graham Adams of the South Carolina Office of Rural Health and Matt Martin of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
