So far, Anthony Foxx‘s first term has had a broad range of highs an lows. This Spring, the Queen city announced it would be hosting the Democratic National Convention in 2012. Directly related to the DNC Host Committee, is a controversy at the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority that threatens to upset its leadership team and momentum. And then during the Memorial Day festivities around a marquee NASCAR Race event, an Uptown late-night melee turned deadly. Add in the challenges of the City’s precarious main revenue source, public budgets, the surprise resignation of Mecklenburg County’s Superintendent of Schools and an overall political hyper-partisanship and suddenly the Office of the Mayor shows signs similar to a triage room than that of the City’s hall of power.
