A post-recession resurgence in Carolina manufacturing can be traced, at least in part, to new trade policies and continual investments in the region’s transportation infrastructure. On this program, we discuss the end of some offshore manufacturing in favor of domestic production, as well as the challenges of finding qualified people to manage the flow of raw materials and finished products through planes, roads, rails and ports. Our panel of experts includes Chris Bernat of Vapor Apparel, Ronnie Bryant of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, Jeff Miles of NC Ports Authority, and Clarke Thompson of the S.C. Department of Commerce. Dr. Cheryl Richards of Northeastern University moderates the discussion.
